| Around the corner from the Fine Arts Theatre in downtown Asheville, Limones Restaurant provides an inspirational mix of Mexican-Californian cuisine along with inventive bar selections served by a warm, professional staff. Chef-owner Hugo Ramirez frequently changes the menu, featuring what is seasonal, fresh and local. Dinner specialies include such entrees as grilled au natural rib-eye steak with hazelnut-ancho chile sauce, or Tequila-lime cured salmon with watercress and avocado salad. Limones also features an impressive Sunday brunch with traditional selections such as Mexican sweetbreads and house-made sausage, including chorizo. For light eaters, a bar menu offersantojitos ("little whims") that are easily enjoyed with tangy house sangria or pomegranate margaritas. The atmosphere welcomes large parties, as well as romantic diners. Dress: nice casual. Serving brunch, lunch ($10-15) and dinner ($15-20). Wine & beer and cocktails. Reservations accepted.
