Camp Ruach at the Asheville Jewish Community Center
Find your friends here! Camp Ruach (that means “spirit”) welcomes all rising 1st-8th graders for a traditional day camp experience focused on building lifelong friendships and enjoying a summer full of fun. Each two-week session is built upon teaching important values through exciting activities, including sports, cooking, crafts, archery, nature expeditions, gardening, overnights, dance, music, swimming with WSI certified swim instructors, and much more.

Colburn Museum Summer Camps
The Colburn Museum summer camps will be located in Pack Place downtown, and offer hands-on, science-oriented day camps to children in rising grades K-5, with both full and half-day options from June 11th-August 3rd (excluding July 2nd-6th). Our last 2 weeks of camp will be Fun Days--campers can register for individual themed days. .

Early Childhood Programs at the Asheville JCC
The Asheville JCC offers numerous opportunities for families with young children to participate in our community. Our outstanding Early Childhood Education programs, Hilde's House Infant& Toddler Program, Shalom Children's Center for Early Childhood and Shalom Children's Center Pre-K, have received North Carolina's highest rating of five stars, and include some of the most innovative programming available for young children in Western North Carolina. We also invite families with young children to participate in our weekly musical Shabbat and Havdalah celebrations.

Terra Summer
Terra Summer is a summer day camp for children 11-14 that uses food as the vehicle for all activities and teachings. We cook, we farm, and we discuss the environmental, health, and social justice issues related to food and the impact we have through our food choices. Fun lessons is math, history, geography, and science are woven in between. Three sessions offered in 2011. Located in Mills River. Transportation and scholarships available.

Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School
Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School is the south’s only AMGA Accredited Guide Service. They offer rock climbing, ice climbing guiding and rock climbing courses across North Carolina. A great and exciting way to see the Mountains! FMG also offers a teen adventure summer camps June through August. We only use American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) trained and certified Instructors and Guides. No other guide service in the Southeastern USA upholds this incredibly high standard.     Art Club at Black Mountain Center for the Arts
    Art Club is an opportunity for children, ages 8-13 to enhance their creative expression through experimentation. With guidance from an experienced artist, members will learn how to develop their ideas, be innovative and practice problem solving skills. Famous Artists, styles and techniques are introduced in a fun informal setting. Children have a great time making art while keeping their brains sharp through the summer months.     Eliada Summer Sports Academy
    This camp is for the novice 8-12 year-old athlete. Each week instruction in a specific sport allows each child to learn the basics, build confidence, practice, scrimmage, receive fitness training, learn about good nutrition, increase teamwork skills, and swim. Boys Baseball June 11-15, Coed Golf June 18-22, Boys Wrestling June 25-29, Girls Volleyball July 9-13, Girls Softball July 16-20, Coed Basketball July 23-27, Coed Lacrosse July 30 – August 3, and Coed Soccer August 6-10.     TrailRidge Mountain Camp
    Known to some as the "world's smallest camp." Separate boys and girls travel camps offering programs from one to five weeks in length. Enrollment for each session is limited to 16 campers. This summer: Roan Mountain Base Camp; Pisgah Forest Base Camp; French Broad Canoe Adventure; and a four-day Appalachian Trail Backpacking and Rafting expedition.     Nature Center of Western North Carolina
    "Wild weeks!" A terrific series of week-long programs for children entering grades 1-7. Programs begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.     JC Martial Arts

    The Asheville Music School

    Day Camps

    YWCA of Asheville offers Summer Camp for grades K-5 and Spirit Camp for 12-16 year olds. The camps are held at 185 S. French Broad Ave. The hours will be 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Both programs feature enrichment activities including swimming lessons, art, music, dance, and field trips.
