Emergence: Crafting an Identity Art Exhibition

An exhibition featuring the work of Haywood Community College alumni is currently being featured at Handmade in America, in downtown Asheville.

Eight recent graduates of Haywood Community College will exhibit work in four media: Crystal Allen and Trish Salmon in clay, Deanna Lynch and Rebecca Porche in fiber, Linda Azar and Becky Burnette in jewelry, and Valerie Berlage and Brandon Skupski in wood.

The title of the show speaks to each artist’s journey to “craft” their own identity as an emerging artist; transitioning from student to professional.
