Learning to Fly, an Asheville Aerial Arts Production and Workshop

Asheville Aerial Arts will perform a visually stunning mix of aerial and ground acts on April 26th in Learning to Fly.

The performance takes place at Asheville Jewish Community Center on April 26th at 2:00 pm. Admission is $20.

As the show title suggests, this show isn’t just about the performers taking flight. The general public can stay after the show and learn to fly. “I wanted to give audience members a chance to feel what it is like to do what these incredibly talented artists do. We’ll set the rigs to a low height and give any willing audience members a chance to spend about 5 minutes working with an aerialist learning a bit on the apparatus of their choice. Due to the restrictions at most venues, we are not permitted to allow this after our shows.

These lucky audience members will be with us in our home base, so generously provided by the Asheville Jewish Community Center.” said Artistic Director, Christine Aiken.

This is the troupe’s annual fundraising event, where they raise funds for equipment, costuming and insurance. Christine goes on to say “Once a year, my troupe comes together and puts their heart and soul on the stage to help the company continue to grow and expand. It really shows how passionate these performers are when they are risking their lives and limbs to make sure they can continue to do just that!” This troupe was formed in 2007 and has continued to delight audience members of all ages in the southeast and beyond.

Their diverse, professional entertainers never cease to amaze and thrill their audiences. Don’t miss the opportunity to see and soar with these talented artists.
