UNC Asheville to Celebrate 465 Graduates at May 9 Commencement

With 465 graduates receiving degrees, UNC Asheville will celebrate May 2015 Commencement, beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, on the campus Quad.

UNC Asheville’s Class of 2015, which also includes 257 December graduates and 34 August graduates, numbers 756.

The May 9 Commencement will be the first led by Chancellor Mary K. Grant, and will feature an address by novelist Wiley Cash, a graduate of the Class of 2000. Cash will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree as will Michell Hicks, principal chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

UNC Asheville Commencement on the Quad is free and open to the public. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved inside to Kimmel Arena on the campus, and admission will be limited to those with tickets pre-distributed to students for use by their invited guests.
