4th of July Celebration at Montreat

Celebrate July Fourth the old-fashioned way… at Montreat Conference Center!

Traditionally a homecoming holiday that brings extended Montreat families together from all over the country, the Fourth of July celebration at Montreat truly captures the essence of American life and has become a popular celebration for everyone in the area.

Annual Montreat Gait 5K

The 5K run will start at the Montreat Gate at 7:00 am and will take runners up to West Virginia Terrace and then back to the Gate. The race will be accompanied by a shorter walk, which will also begin at the Gate at 7:00 am. There is no entrance fee, registration, or T-shirt, so we’ll just see you there!

Montreat Parade

Join us on the 4th of July to celebrate with a parade and a variety of fun events for the whole family! This is a time to celebrate Montreat, freedom, peace, unity, and our community of faith. Please ensure that all parade entries maintain the spirit of this event. Parade participants will assemble on Geneva Place at Appalachian Way. Units are to be in place no later than 10:00 am. The parade starts at 10:30 am. If you would like to participate in the parade, please download the 2015 July 4th Parade Application and turn it in to the Montreat Store. Use all of your imagination and creativity to help us celebrate Montreat’s rich heritage!

On March 31, 2015, a wildfire began in the Ridgcrest area and left 740 acres of land burned over a five day period. The fire spread into Montreat and at times could be seen coming over the mountain. Local forest service and fire department personnel made heroic efforts to keep Montreat safe from the looming fire. The Montreat Conference Center is honoring their service by having them serve as the 2015 parade marshals.

Montreat Cottagers BBQ

Make plans to join the Montreat community for the annual July 4th Barbecue! This year we will again offer a delicious box lunch from Red Radish Catering Company in Back Mountain.
