Asheville Art Museum Presents a Jewelry Workshop

The Asheville Art Museum presents a dazzling Textile & Metal Jewelry Workshop with local artist Joanna Gollberg on Saturday, August 1st from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In this class, participants will use simple tools to form the base of a jewelry piece — whether it’s a brooch, necklace, earrings or bracelet. The base will then be decorated with textile fibers. The idea is to create a finished piece in a day, while exploring the two very different mediums of metal and fiber. The class will also explore professional jewelry cold connections and findings using wire, as well as a variety of textile and sewing techniques, including simple whip-stitching, appliqué and embroidery. Students should bring: ideas, sketches, Pinterest boards and an open mind!

This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience. All materials and snacks are included in the cost. Class size is limited and advance registration is required.
