Gray Line Trolley Tours is premiering its latest red joy ride through Asheville. The Holly Jolly Christmas Trolley Tour will embark from Biltmore Village on a festive trip through the lights and sights of the season.
Anyone and everyone up for a jolly good time is warmly invited to pick a date to see the prettiest scenes around town … sidewalks, storefronts, B&Bs and inns, parks and churches, all in their merry finest.
After a successful test run last year, Gray Line decided to make the Christmas Tour an annual event. “This is the first year of what we hope will be a popular holiday experience for visitors and a new family tradition for locals,” says Jonathan Helmken, General Manager of Gray Line. Departing at 7pm, trolley tours will travel through Biltmore Village, Historic Montford, Grove Park and the Grove Park Inn, Pack Square and downtown Asheville. Stories of local holiday traditions, singing of classic carols and popular Christmas songs are on the program, too. Expect smiles and laughter, oohs and ahhs at magical illumination, all along the way.
The Christmas Trolley schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, always at 7:00 pm, through December 29th. The 75-minute tour embarks from the Olde World Christmas Shoppe at 5 Boston Way in Biltmore Village. Trolleys are heated and enclosed with clear curtain windows. “Winter drives through neighborhoods dressed up for the holidays make for great memories,” says Helmken. “Now, imagine a ride on a bright red trolley, lights, caroling, and hopefully some great Christmas sweaters. What could be jollier?”
