A-B Tech Students are Scrub Bowl Champions For Fourth Time

A-B Tech Community College Surgical Technology students placed first in the state at the North Carolina Alliance of Surgical Technology Educators Scrub Bowl at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst.

This is the fourth time in five years a team from A-B Tech took top honors.

Students competed against eight other graduate level teams from across the state. “The competition was fierce, as all contestants have been preparing for their national certification exam, which was the subject matter of this tournament,” said Daniel Stokoe, Clinical Coordinator/Surgical Technology Instructor at A-B Tech. “We utilize this scrub bowl as an intense subject review and morale booster for the upcoming exam, which will ensure that all students are eligible to gain employment anywhere in the United States upon graduation.”
