On the last Wednesday of every month, Pack Memorial Library is putting on a very popular program that looks back on Asheville in the 80s.
The series has covered a movement to save the downtown, businesses and restaurants of the 80s, social activism, and even the arts. The next presentation will be on New Housing and Buildings.
It’s taking place on Wednesday, August 31st from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Lord Auditorium in Pack Library, which is located on the bottom floor across from the children’s section.
Turnouts for this event have been between 70-100 in the past, so the earlier you get there, the better seat you’ll get. The presentation will feature multiple speakers with first-hand knowledge and experience with Asheville in the 80s. There will be stories, pictures, laughs, questions and answers, and audience members who remember Asheville in the 80s will also be invited to share their stories.
