The Buncombe County Register of Deeds Office has released its 2016 list of top ten baby names for girls and boys.
Top 10 Girl Names:
1. Emma – 29
2. Oliva – 19
3. Abigail – 18
4. Harper – 17
5. Eliabeth – 17
6. Charlotte – 15
7. Mia – 14
8. Isabella – 14
9. Evelyn – 13
10. Ava – 13
Top 10 Boy Names:
1. William – 32
2. Oliver – 28
3. Liam – 22
4. James – 21
5. Isaac – 20
6. Henry – 19
7. Jackson – 19
8. Elijah – 19
9. Benjamin – 18
10. Samuel – 17
In 2016 the top two baby names were Emma and William in Buncombe County. Emma topped Oliva for the first time in several years with 29 Emma’s and only 19 Olivia’s born. William is the top boy’s name again for the third year running.
