Public Input Requested for Transformation of Medicaid and NC Health Choice Programs

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking additional public input through  May 25th on the Medicaid and NC Health Choice programs transformation (also known as “Medicaid reform”).

While all feedback is welcome, the Department is looking for input on several topics. Specifically, how can or should North Carolina’s Medicaid and NC Health Choice programs:

*   Integrate Primary Care and Behavioral Health Services
*   Support Provider Transformation
*   Care Management and Population Health
*   Address Social Determinants of Health
*   Improve Quality of Care
*   Pay for Value
*   Increase Access to Care and Treatment of Substance Use Disorder

For specific information and sample questions on each of these topics, refer to the Request for Public Input document on the DHHS Medicaid Reform website.

Input will be used by the Department as it considers whether modifications are needed to the Section 1115 waiver application submitted June 1, 2016, to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Comments also may be shared by speaking at one of four public input sessions to be held during May (pre-registration is not necessary; please review speaker guidelines):
