Whether you are looking for love or just to get some exercise on this Valentines Day the Black Mountain Recreation and Parks department is happy to announce the Eleventh annual Valentine run on Saturday, February 13th, 2010 at 2:00pm. The run which is 3.1 miles is set in a quiet neighborhood in Black Mountain and leads you down the paved Oaks Trail and back. You will then return to where it all began Black Mountain Recreation Park off of Blue Ridge Road. Runners can enter this race as a single or as a pair. There are prizes for over all male and female, top three in each age group and top pair in the couple’s category. Race entry is $25 ($24 on line at www.setupevents.com or $25 in person or by mail) until February 11th or late registration is $30 anytime after 5:00pm on February 11th up until and on race day. The first 250 runners will receive a stylish & warm long sleeve tee, late day entrants will receive one while supplies last! The youth one mile run will begin at 2:45 at the Oaks Trail, starting from Recreation Park. Pre-registration is free, late registration begins February 11th and is $5.00.
