Black Mountain Center for the Arts welcomes "A Rose Among Thorns," musicians Jamie and Renae Brame with Joe Friddle, to the Fourth Friday Concert on March 28 at 7Pm. Their music emphasizes strong vocal harmonies reminiscent of the folk groups of the early 60’s and folk-rock groups of the early 70’s. They blend music from bluegrass, contemporary Christian, folk, country, and other traditions that offers a sound that is soothing to the ears. Along with their vocal harmonies, they use “enough instruments to get the job done,” including guitars, mandolin, dobro, pennywhistle, with the occasional a cappella singing thrown in for good measure.A $10 donation at the door is requested, and there are no reserved seats. Black Mountain Center for the Arts works to bring arts to the people and people to the arts by providing a center for celebrating the arts and a forum for stimulating artistic endeavor. The Center is located at 225 West State St Black Mountain, NC 28711, and can be reached at 828-669-0930. (Image provided by Black Mountain Center for the Arts.)
