In 2010 Buncombe County Government is encouraging all of us to be "Buncombe Green" by recycling, reducing and reusing. Buncombe County defines green as something that meets two of the following: saves money, saves time, and/or saves the environment. Watch for ways to save time and make it easier to recycle; how to and where to recycle and how our efforts truly impact our own backyard. Watch for ways to help reduce the litter in our County, reduce our trips to the supermarket and reduce our waistline. As spring comes our way, we will pass along money saving tips from our Health Department on how to shape up without spending any additional dollars. We'll also let you know how to get involved in area litter clean up events. We'll be featuring info on gardening in your backyard including tips for reusing rainwater and making your own compost. Visit buncombecounty.org/green to find out more or watch the February edition of BCTV's Buncombe Life. Help us by entering the Buncombe Green Photo Contest now. The deadline is February 28 so don't wait. (Image provided by Buncombe County.)
