Asheville Transit’s evening routes serving UNC-Asheville will be consolidated beginning Thursday, August 19. Until further notice, Route 52 will provide evening Transit Service to UNC-Asheville as listed in the attached schedule. Route 3 will no longer be operated. Route 52 operates from the downtown Transit Center to Patton Avenue past Prichard Park to Broadway/Merrimon Ave., north to Ingles on Merrimon Ave. then returning on Merrimon Ave., turning on WT Weaver to service UNC-Asheville campus and then back to downtown Asheville using Merrimon Ave. and College Street to the Transit Center. Due to Transit Center gates being closed after 11 p.m., routes running between 11:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. will pick-up/drop off passengers at Prichard Park bus-stops or on Coxe Avenue in front of the Transit Center. Extended Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening service will be reduced during UNC-Asheville class breaks. See for www.ashevilletransit.com more details. Route 52 is open to the general public.
