Calling all artists, illustrators, painters and graphic designers: FANATICON needs you to create a poster masterpiece. The winning poster will be printed in full, glorious color and will publicize FANATICON in Asheville and throughout the universe. It will also be sold as a commemorative item on the day of the event. We need a poster that represents the fun and excitement of a comic book convention in Asheville, so let your imaginations run wild! Here’s What You Need to Know...
• Entries must include the iconic FANATICON mask in some capacity (see sample above). Big, small, in the corner, under a rock—it’s up to you! The FANATICON Poster Contest winner will receive $250 and an Annual Family/Dual Membership to the Asheville Art Museum (a $70 value)! So, what are you waiting for? On Saturday, May 15, 2010, beautiful downtown Asheville, NC will play host to FANATICON, a celebration of comic book culture and its fans. The event will take place at the Asheville Art Museum and will feature local comic book vendors, artists, panel discussions and special guests. FANATICON is a labor of love by an enthusiastic team of local comic book and pop culture fans.
