Partisan/Non-Partisan Election Forum Set for Thursday


A forum entitled �City Elections: Partisan or Non-Partisan� will be presented on Thursday, October 11th, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the NC Center for Creative Retirement on the campus of UNCA. This forum, jointly sponsored by Leadership Asheville Forum and the NCCR, is open to the public and free of charge.

Presenters will address the following questions:

  • Charlie Hume, leader of Let Asheville Vote: �Why decide by referendum?�
  • Bill Sabo, UNCA professor of political science: �What is the role of political parties?�
  • Brownie Newman, Asheville city councilman: �Why should political parties be involved?�
  • Jan Davis, Asheville city councilman: �Why should city elections be non-partisan?�
