Stephens-Lee Recreation Center Offers Pickle Ball


Asheville Parks and Recreation and Stephens-Lee Recreation Center are offering Pickle Ball, an exciting game that combines ping-pong, tennis, and badminton. People of all abilities and ages are welcome, whether you have been playing the game for years or are interested in learning to play. Paddles and balls will be provided.

Pickle ball will be held at the center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m., starting March 3. This is a drop-in program � registration not required. Cost is $1 per person to play each day. For more information, stop by the center at 30 George Washington Carver (off South Charlotte St.), or call 828-350-2058.

The Stephens-Lee Center is located off S. Charlotte Street at Max Street. The center offers a wide variety of programs and classes for all ages, with special emphasis on wellness and fitness for women. The center features a gymnasium and fitness center with weights, treadmills, stationary bikes, Stairmaster and a universal machine. �Women only� workout times are designed specifically for women by women. The park surrounding the center includes playgrounds, a basketball court and the Dr. George Washington Carver Edible Garden.
