Summer Camp is Approaching at YWCA of Asheville

YWCA Summer Camp for Grades K-6
YWCA Summer Camp for children in grades K-6 emphasizes cultural awareness and enrichment. Over the summer, campers enjoy weekly field trips, nature hikes, swimming lessons, music, art and more. In addition, the Terpsicorp Ballet Company will be providing classes for most of the summer. The YWCA Summer Camp will begin immediately after the school year ends and last all summer. Applications are available at the YWCA.

YWCA SPIRIT Camp for 12-16 Year Olds
The YWCA’s SPIRIT Camp is a unique summer program, designed to meet the needs of teenagers who think they are “too cool” for camp! SPIRIT offers daily, full-day field trips, including wilderness adventure, outdoor service-learning projects, swimming, skating, tubing, trips to water parks, museums, aquariums, and more. Teens have unique needs, and the YWCA staff knows how to keep them having fun while learning at the same time. Applications are available at the YWCA. YWCA FutureVision for 9th and 10th Graders
The YWCA’s FutureVision camp for 9th and 10th graders offers a unique two and half days a week camp organized around a variety of engaging themes. Activities include hands-on career exploration, wilderness adventure, swimming, outdoor service-learning projects, and team building games. Participants are encouraged to continue with the FutureVision program into the school year (see above description). FutureVision Camp 2008 will begin June 9th and will run until the last week of July. The camp is free of cost. There is a limit of 21 campers; sign-ups are on a first come first served basis.
