Now in its 72nd year, the Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands returns to downtown Asheville’s U.S. Cellular Center this weekend, Oct. 17-20, to provide the community access to some of the region’s finest artists.

The Asheville Symphony’s October concert — “Fright Night” — will feature Berlioz’s grand Symphonie Fantastique. Inspired by an opium trip, it remains one of the most original and unusual symphonies in the standard repertoire.
