Asheville Art in the Park once again returns to Pack Square Park to provide access to some of the finest artists in the region. The event takes place on three consecutive Saturdays each June and October.

Flat Rock Playhouse continues its 2019 season with South Pacific, a summer blockbuster musical and Broadway classic. Known for its glorious score by Rodgers and Hammerstein, the show transports audiences to the Pacific Islands in World War II as young couples struggle with the dynamics of love, war, and faith.

Asheville Police Headquarters to Be Named After Late Lieutenant

At a recent meeting, city council passed a resolution to name Asheville Police Headquarters in memory of former APD Lt. Walter Robertson. During his 28-year tenure at the Asheville Police Department, “Walt” Robertson became the first African American in the department to reach the rank of Lieutenant.
