Information
For several months, PSABC has been working to purchase two properties in the East End/Valley Street neighborhood – 57 Max Street, a brick church known as Cappadocia from 1926 and 32 Grail Street, a 1910 home.  Both structures were slated to be demolished, however, the developers were open to a solution that saved the structures while still allowing for their in-fill construction project.  PSABC consulted with the East End/Valley Street Neighborhood Association and found that the preservation of these buildings was a priority for the community.
We are thrilled to announce that just yesterday we completed the purchase of these two properties.  Over the coming months we have so much work to do!  With the help of Medlock & Associates Engineering, we will be assessing the structure of the church to determine next steps for its preservation.
Additionally, we will be calling for the help of volunteers for everything from cleaning, to removing ivy, to painting, to small construction projects.  We need the help of folks with all different skill levels!
The full scope of the work we will complete on both the home and church is still undecided.  It is our hope to explore options for developing both structures into affordable housing solutions and the more we can do through the power of volunteers the closer we will be to that goal!
