Abby Roach, affectionally known as Abby The Spoon Lady, is a world class spoon playing phenomenon with a You Tube video that boasts well over 1 million views. Well known Asheville buskers (street entertainers), Abby and Chris produce a unique sound of “Appalachian Blues” as they combine their talents of rhythm and tune. Abby will be telling stories of her 8 years spent riding the rails across America on her quest for a new beginning while living a hobo lifestyle. She and Chris most recently appeared at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough during the Storytellers Studio at the International Storytelling Center. The talented duo have been the subject of several television documentaries. Abby hosts a radio show in Asheville, NC. and is an extremely active advocate for street entertainers serving as a liaison between the buskers, the downtown merchants and the Asheville city government. She created the Asheville Buskers Collective and can be credited with securing better relationships between street entertainers, the merchants and the police department in Asheville, NC.
Doors open at 6pm for best seating. Beer, wine and beverages available from the bar. Parking is free and easy in the rear of the building in the Moog Music parking lots AFTER 5:30pm. Show begins promptly at 7pm and there will be an intermission. In case of incliment weather the show may be postponed to a later date and tickets can be forwarded for that show.
