TOD LINAFELT is professor of biblical literature in the Theology Department, Georgetown University, Washington, DC. He has served as Cardin Family Chair in the Humanities, English Dept., Loyola College, Baltimore; and Alexander Robertson Fellow at the University of Glasgow.

He is author/editor of nine books including with Walter Brueggemann the college textbook “An Introduction to the Old Testament”” (Westminster John Knox, 2012 ), and “A Very Short introduction to the Hebrew Bible as Literature” (Oxford, 2016).

Linafelt’s primary scholarly interests revolve around the distinctive literature resources of biblical narrative and poetry. Two chapters from his book Surviving Lamentations has been anthologized in the annual reference work “Poetry Criticism.”
