Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

Our mission is to work towards the end of euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals as a means of population control in our community. Working collaboratively with other like-minded organizations, we strive to achieve this goal through aggressive spay/neuter, education, and our foster care system, providing dogs with a temporary sanctuary and comprehensive training until they can be placed in a permanent, carefully screened home.

Blue Ridge Humane Society

Blue Ridge Humane Society is a no-kill, limited admission animal adoption and rescue center. Located at US 64 East. All animals spayed or neutered and Current on vaccinations.

Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation

Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation works save those pets they can by placing them in local foster homes while the try to find permanent homes for them. However, the goal is an Adoption Center with quarantine space, comfortable pens, outdoor runs, a cattery, areas for training and grooming.

REACH Emergency Hospital

REACH Emergency Hospital is available for emergency animal services from 5 pm to 7 am Monday thru Friday and 24 hours on holidays and weekends. Our mission at REACH is to provide the highest quality emergency veterinary care in a professional and compassionate manner.

Asheville Humane Society

For over 30 years Asheville Humane Society has been saving homeless Buncombe County animals. Today we operate both our own state-of-the-art Adoption and Education Center and the County’s only open door shelter where no local animal is ever turned away. We rescue, reunite, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned, abused, injured and lost animals. We provide education, training and support to keep pets in their homes. Our nationally recognized innovative programs and partnerships are steadily moving Buncombe County toward a no-kill community.

Meals on Wheels W.A.L.O.P. Program

Since the 1990’s, Meals On Wheels of Asheville and Buncombe County has been working with local pet stores, veterinarians and community groups to provide pet food and other services to senior pet owners. To contribute to the Meals On Wheels Pet Food program, please send donations to 146 Victoria Road, Asheville, NC 28801.

Waggers Dog Depot

Waggers Dog Depot is the newest “Fun” place for dogs in Asheville. We offer a delicious variety of home made treats & chews, dog clothing, collars, leashes, tags & Pet Photography. We also provide the very best Grooming Salon for dogs and cats with our gentle, experienced groomers utilizing the latest tools & equipment. We do not cage pets while they are in our facility, thus reducing their stress level. A Self Serve Wash is available for the do it yourselfer. Come by and see what the excitement is all about and join our long list of satisfied customers. Of course dogs are always welcome and will receive a treat.

Humane Alliance of WNC

Humane Alliance of WNC Spay/Neuter Clinic is dedicated to ending pet overpopulation by providing high volume, high quality, targeted, affordable sterilization services of companion animals.

Project SANTA

Project SANTA stands for Supporting Animal Needs Through Action. This project is similar to the classic “Toys for Tots” but provides needed supplies, food, toys, and monetary donations to the animals of Henderson and Buncombe counties through the no-kill shelters of Brother Wolf and the Blue Ridge Humane Society.

MaryPaws Animal Adoptions

MaryPaws Animal Adoptions rescues pregnant cats ready to give birth to their litters. We need foster homes to care for the new mothers until their kittens are weened and ready for adoption. Appalachian Wildlife Refuge

Appalachian Wildlife Refuge is a nonprofit that coordinates the needs of wildlife rehabilitation in Western North Carolina providing care for injured and orphaned wildlife, support for the wildlife rehabilitation network and conservation education to the community. If you find an animal which seems in need, please visit the website or email [email protected] for guidance on what to do (or not do). If help is needed, one of their volunteer transporters will meet you in a safe location to pick up the animal (bird, small mammal, or herptile) and get it their triage facility.

Appalachian Wildlife Urgent Care Center

Appalachian Wild is a non-profit whose mission is to help save injured and orphaned native wildlife, support the area’s home-based wildlife rehabilitators, and provide conservation education. Its Appalachian Wildlife Urgent Care facility triages small mammals (except vector species), birds, and herptiles and transports stabilized animals into the care of wildlife rehabilitators or rehab centers. Catman-2 Shelter

Catman-2 operates the largest cats-only, no-kill shelter in WNC. Carts are tested for feline leukemia, have all vaccinations, and if old enough, are spayed or neutered. Adoption fees are $60. Some cats are de-clawed and some are pure breed. You will surely fine the cat of your dreams.

Haywood Animal Welfare Association

Haywood Animal Welfare Association believes in community education and service. They strive to ensure humane treatment of animals though various community services such as pet therapy, education programs as well as promoting pet adoption. All their friends have been rescued from the Haywood County Animal Shelter and are either in foster care or at Animal Supply House in Waynesville.

Animal Haven of Asheville

Animal Haven of Asheville is a ten-acre sanctuary in East Asheville, NC and have been home to rescued farm animals, as well as dogs and cats, for the past 18 years. Our organization is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers with the goal of providing protection and refuge to homeless and abused animals. We provide shelter, veterinary care, and rehabilitation for life, or until someone like you comes and adopts one of our animals.
