AmiciMusic is proud to present the debut performance of a new addition to the Asheville area music scene, the Brevard Woodwind Quintet, on Friday, Jan. 12th.
Made up of some of the finest performers in the region, these players first met while performing recently with the Brevard Philharmonic Orchestra and have decided to join forces in this fantastic combination of instruments—-flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and French Horn.
This program will include some lighter music for Woodwind Quintet by Danzi, Ibert, and Arnold and then pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser will join them for a powerful Romantic Piano Sextet by Ludwig Thuille, a largely forgotten Austrian composer who wrote some lush music in the style of Brahms and Richard Strauss
The performance takes place on Friday, January 12th, at 7:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for church members, and free for individuals 18 and under.
