Les Ballet Trockadero de Monte Carlo at Diana Wortham Theatre

Known adoringly as “The Trocks,” this irreverent and hilarious troupe brings its unique brand of polished parody to Diana Wortham Theatre for the first time.

The divas and cavaliers of the all-male company blend their loving knowledge of classical and modern ballet, their comic approach, and the astounding fact that men can, indeed, dance en pointe. A major dance phenomenon worldwide, it’s all smiles when The Trocks don tutus, pointe shoes and false eyelashes to perform the classical ballet repertoire, all with athletic artistry, grace, and technical expertise.

Their first show was on September 9, 1974, at a second story loft on 14th street, in the heart of the meat-packing district. After receiving a favorable critical review in The New Yorker by Arlene Croce, it was discovered by a wider audience. “The Trocks” toured the world, with prolonged engagements in many major cities.
