Parsec Financial Awards $155,000 to Local Nonprofits

Parsec Financial, an independent fee-only wealth management firm, continues to uphold one of its core values of charitable giving with the announcement of the 2018 Parsec Prize.

Parsec Financial is committing $155,000 to nine local nonprofits and their missions of helping those in their communities.

The Parsec Prize represents approximately one half of Parsec’s annual charitable giving. This is the most that Parsec Financial has awarded in a single year since it was founded in 2005. The organizations represented will help countless individuals in a variety of ways such as domestic violence, financial assistance, education and business startups.

Rotarians Against Hunger (Asheville) $15,000
Read To Succeed (Asheville) $10,000
The Hope Chest for Women (Asheville) $10,000
The Good Fellows Club (Charlotte) $20,000
Brookstone Schools (Charlotte) $20,000
Center for Creative Economy (Winston-Salem) $20,000
Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry (Tryon) $15,000

*Year 2 of a 4 year commitment

“This is the fourteenth year of the Parsec Prize and we have now awarded over $1.1 million in prizes since its inception,” said Rick Manske, chief executive officer with Parsec Financial. “It is a great honor to partner with these wonderful charities to help strengthen our communities. The work they do is essential to those they serve and we are happy to have this program in place. We hope to sustainably invest in a better life for all – as we grow, the prize grows.”
