Voices in the Laurel Hosts SummerVoice Music Camp

Voices in the Laurel will host its 10th annual SummerVoice Music Camp, A Million Dreams, on July 23-27 at First Baptist Church in Waynesville.

The camp is open to young people who will be entering 1st–12th grades this fall. Rising 1st through 5th graders have camp from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm, while rising 6th through 12th graders will be involved in activities from 9:45 am to 2:00 pm. Students in grades 6-12 may come for an optional Honors Chorus Audition Workshop from 9:00 am to 9:45 am each morning at no extra charge.

The theme will be A Million Dreams from the hit movie, “The Greatest Showman.” Campers will learn healthy singing techniques while learning to sing a variety of fun music including traditional choral music, Broadway and movie tunes, popular music, and world music. They also will be involved in activities in which they learn vocal technique, choreography, sight-singing, a cappella singing, and group instruction in guitar and percussion. All campers will participate in a demonstration performance at the close of camp on Friday.
