Blue Ridge Health and WTZQ Partner for Healthy Q-munity Radiothon

Blue Ridge Health and WTZQ are proud to announce that the first annual Healthy Q-munity Radiothon will take place at the Blue Ridge Health practice on the corner of Howard Gap and Chimney Rock Road on Tuesday, August 14th, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The event will help raise awareness and funds to support Blue Ridge Health’s mission – to provide comprehensive quality healthcare that is accessible and affordable for all. Open to the public, those who visit the event will be treated to:

  • Free lunch provided by Cook Out
  • Live music
  • Kids’ activities: bouncy house, face-painting
  • Health screenings and education

“One of the core reasons WTZQ and Blue Ridge Health exist is to serve our community. What better way than to make sure our friends and neighbors have access to world class healthcare right here at home? Every penny raised at this Radiothon will be spent providing healthcare to those who need it most.” said Mark Warwick, General Manager for WTZQ.

Broadcast live by WTZQ, the Healthy Q-munity Radiothon will feature compelling stories from Blue Ridge Health patients, doctors, nurses and staff, as well as guest commentary from community leaders and non-profit partners. Staff and volunteers will be answering the phones during the event – many of whom have already pledged their support to this effort.

“We are excited to partner with our friends at WTZQ to broadcast this Radiothon.” said Dr. Richard Hudspeth, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer for Blue Ridge Health. “The generous support of listeners will help us do so much more to improve the lives of patients who turn to Blue Ridge Health for care. We are grateful for each and every hero who donates to support our patients.”

The Radiothon’s goal is to raise funds to support Blue Ridge Health’s Henderson County practices. All monies raised will stay in the community, helping to create a long-term healthcare structure that will benefit our region for many years to come.
