Asheville Community Theatre Opens 73rd Season With Avenue Q

Asheville Community Theatre has opened its 73rd season with Avenue Q, a puppet-filled witty and raunchy musical comedy! Performances continue through October 28.

In this production, recent college grad Princeton moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q – a street where puppets and humans alike live together. Princeton and his new-found friends try to figure out life in this musical where Sesame Street meets South Park. It’s the winner of the 2003 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.

The theatre gives Avenue Q a movie rating of R for content that includes graphic language, sexual situations, and adult themes. They do not recommend this show to anyone under the age of 17, and advise parents to carefully consider and research independently before bringing children under 17.
