COVID-19: A Message From Asheville City Manager Debra Campbell

The City of Asheville is modifying its operations until further notice to protect residents and minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Asheville City Hall and other municipal buildings will be closed to the public starting March 17. Some city employees will telecommute to minimize person-to-person contact.

It is important to note that all essential police, fire, sanitation and water services will be maintained as the city continues to serve and protect the community, even in this difficult time.

City employees that are able will begin transitioning to teleworking schedules throughout this week. For employees unable to work remotely, increasing the physical working space among employees and modifying operations are among the options being evaluated.

The city is operating in uncharted territory and will continue to adapt to the situation as it evolves. Thank you for your patience. They will continue to share information as it becomes available on the City of Asheville website.
