Virtual Pride Festival 2020 Set for Saturday, Sept. 26

Blue Ridge Pride is excited to announce that 2020 Pride is back on in a virtual setting. Back in May, after careful consideration from the board of directors, the organization determined as a result of COVID-19, community health, and social distancing, that it would cancel its plans for the Blue Ridge Pride Festival in downtown Asheville.

However, Blue Ridge Pride is pleased to announce that on Saturday, September 26, at 7:00 pm, it will be hosting a live virtual broadcast of a pride “festival” on Blue Ridge Pride Center’s Facebook page.

All of your favorites will be there: live musical performances and drag shows, representation from LGBT community partners, pre-recorded segments focusing on our community’s diversity, health, safety, activities, relationships, and more. If you are interested in attending, visit facebook.com/blueridgepridecenter and let us know you are going by signing up on our Events page.

It is free to sign up and attend for all. The virtual festival should last approximately two hours, but it could go longer depending on how much fun is had.

Blue Ridge Pride traces its roots back to 2009, when the community banded together to hold its first festival on a public space in Martin Luther King Park. While the festival remains core to its mission, they have expanded into many new types of events.
