Only fifty-five North Carolina businesses received this year’s recognition. Of the fifty-five, JPS, Champion Credit Union, and Zoe Dental were the only WNC based companies.Statewide, JPS is one of three accounting firms recognized this year. This is the seventh consecutive year JPS has been named a Best Employers in North Carolina.
Among its benefits, JPS employees receive employer-paid health insurance and gym membership, a health savings account, shortened work weeks outside of busy tax season, a flexible work schedule, and continuing education reimbursement.
JPS has developed a culture focused on supporting the community and profession through encouraging involvement in leadership roles and providing paid volunteer hours. Employees also enjoy fun events such as Heritage Day lunches celebrating cultural diversity within the firm, Halloween and other holiday costume contests, and an annual family 5K and picnic.

The newly published list is separated into three categories which are determined by the number of employees. JPS ranked #6 of the 18 small-sized companies (15-49 employers) recognized statewide. There are 18 medium-sized (50–249 employees) and 19 large-sized (250+ employees) companies also named.
Companies from across the state entered a two-part survey process – the first part consisted of evaluating a variety of factors internal to each company, and, the second part consisted of an employee satisfaction survey. The combined scores determined top companies and the final ranking.
