City of Asheville offices will be closed Nov. 25-26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The following city services will be affected as well.
ART bus service
ART service will not run on Thanksgiving Day. For more information, including routes and schedules, please visit the ART Transit station at 49 Coxe Ave., download the Moovit app for your smart device or go online to RideTheArt.com.
Sanitation collection
The City of Asheville Sanitation Department will be closed Thanksgiving Day. Customers scheduled for Thursday collection will instead have their trash and recycling picked up the day after Thanksgiving. Please have carts placed by the curb by 7 a.m. on Friday.

Parks & Recreation
All parks will be open on a normal schedule. All community centers will be closed Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday.
The WNC Nature Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day and will reopen Friday on a normal schedule.
Aston Park Tennis Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day and will reopen Friday on a normal schedule. The center’s last day of operations for the season is Nov. 30.
Asheville Municipal Golf Course will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will reopen Friday on a normal schedule.
Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville
The Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville box office will be closed for the entire week of Thanksgiving and will reopen on the following Tuesday. For direct inquiries, people can email [email protected].
Emergency services
All public safety services, including police, fire and emergency response, will operate to normal schedule – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Water Resources staff will be available for water related emergencies 24 hours a day over the holiday weekend. Customers can call the customer service line at 828-251-1122 to report water related emergencies, leaks, breaks and no water calls.
