Asheville Habitat to Celebrate Second Community Build House on Friday, Dec. 3rd

Asheville Habitat will celebrate the completion of Asheville Habitat’s second Community Build House as well as a key passing ceremony to new homeowner Jasmine Jones and her family on Friday, December 3, at 12:30 pm.

“This is the last move. We’re not moving no more. So even if they go off to college, mom will still be right here and they don’t have to worry about it,” shared new homeowner Jasmine Jones.

During the event, the Jones family will be joined by Habitat staff and board members and the sponsors that made this home possible including Buchanan Construction and Kim and Gordon Wissinger. The Adopt-A-Lot sponsors are Scott and Mary Gillam. The celebration will be held at New Heights Drive (GPS: 1773 Old Haywood Road Asheville, NC 28806).

Habitat homeownership is linked to increased financial stability, better educational outcomes, improved health, and stronger civic and social engagement. Habitat programs also create generational wealth building opportunities for those with limited access to homeownership and help bridge the racial gap in housing. Everyone deserves a decent place to live, and everyone can help make that possible for another family.
