Duke Energy and City of Asheville to Hold Rankin Avenue Substation Public Meetings on Aug. 11th and Aug. 22nd

Duke Energy and the City of Asheville are exploring the possibility of replacing the existing downtown substation on Rankin Avenue (behind Harrah’s Cherokee Center) with a new substation across the street.

Duke will host two public meetings on Thursday, August 11, at 9 am and again at 4 pm, as well as a virtual option on Monday, August 22, at 6 pm. Attendees will have an opportunity for one-on-one conversations with specialists who are knowledgeable about the substation rebuild project.
