When William A.V. Cecil Jr., great-grandson of George W. Vanderbilt, surveyed the view from the crest of Antler Hill on Biltmore Estate; he knew hed found the perfect spot to carry out his great-grandfathers plan to build a hotel on his property in Asheville, NC. Soon following the opening of Inn on Biltmore Estate in March 2001, the property received recognition befitting a century of dreams with a Mobil Travel Guide Four-Star rating, Four Diamonds from AAA and most recently, inclusion in Conde Nasts 2004 Gold List: Worlds Best Places to Stay.It took a lot of hard work and teamwork to plan for, construct and open the Inn on Biltmore Estate, said Cecil, CEO of The Biltmore Company. Its thrilling to see everything come together to create an outstanding accommodation that has done well enough to garner significant recognition so soon after opening its doors. I like to think my great-grandfather would be proud of what weve accomplished. Inn on Biltmore Estate received the Mobil Travel Guide Four-Star rating in November 2002 along with a renewal of its 2001 Four-Diamond rating from AAA.
