Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) and the Great Smoky Mountains Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America have scheduled the 5th Annual BRCC Car Show for Saturday, April 11, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Flat Rock campus of Blue Ridge Community College, just outside Hendersonville, NC.
This show kicks off the 2009 car show season for Western North Carolina and will draw entries from Central and Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and upstate South Carolina. Several hundred cars are expected to be on display. The show, which is open to cars and trucks of all makes and models, has traditionally attracted a wide range of antique cars, hot rods, classics, muscle cars and special interest vehicles. This is an open, non-judged show with door prizes. Registration is at the gate and is $5 per vehicle. Barbecue sandwiches and drinks will be available at the show. The BRCC Applied Technology Department will have an open house as part of the show, enabling visitors to tour the Automotive Systems Technology, Automotive Restoration, and Autobody Repair facilities and to speak with students and faculty about the automotive-related programs at BRCC. This year, a new feature has been added. An automotive flea market will be held in conjunction with the show. Vendors and market traders dealing in car-related items will display their goods for sale. Vendor spaces for the flea market will be available at $20 each on the day of the sale. All proceeds from the BRCC Car Show go to benefit students of the automotive programs at BRCC, including scholarships and support for participation in the SkillsUSA regional and national competitions. The show is open to the public for viewing. Admission for spectators is free of charge. BRCC is located just off I-26 at Exit 53 (Upward Road). This is a great opportunity to see some of the regions most beautiful show cars fresh from their winters beauty rest. Mark your calendar for April 11.
