WNC Farmers Market Hosts 16th Annual Spring Herb Festival May 6-8

The Spring Herb Festival, held annually at the WNC Farmers Market in Asheville, will be held through Sunday. If its herbs, its here, is the theme for the popular event that attracts over 23,000 herb lovers and visitors from across the Southeast each spring. The festival is the largest of its kind in the Southeast.

The Spring Herb Festival has become an annual gathering for herb enthusiasts who return each year to visit with friends, shop for their favorite herbs, and have an enjoyable time among the herbs, says Rick Morgan, Festival Coordinator.

The event offers the best selection of herb plants and herb products as there are fifty businesses that market only herbs and herbal products at the festival. There are over 250,000 herb plants for visitors to select their favorites and try some new varieties. Festival-goers can choose from herb crafts and gifts, plants, books, soaps, teas, dried flowers, salves, herbal baked goods, tinctures, lotions, essential oils, and medicinal herbs.

The Spring Herb Festival is sponsored by the North Carolina Herb Association and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. For more information, please visit www.wncherbfestival.com.

The WNC Farmers Market is located on Highway 191 (Brevard Road) in Asheville, and is accessible from either I-40 or I-26; follow exit signs for WNC Farmers Market.
