The Grand Opening date for Elaine�s Dueling Piano Bar at The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, 290 Macon Avenue in Asheville, North Carolina is set for Friday, September 22, 2006. �We are excited to feature the first dueling piano bar of its kind in Asheville,� said the Resort�s Director Of Food & Beverage Jeffrey Piccirillo. �The bar features continuous dueling piano shows and the JBL sound system is state of the art. It will definitely be the place to go for a great time.�
�It�s more fun and more exciting than anything you could imagine so expect to be surprised,� said the Resort�s Entertainment Director, Maddy Winer. Winer has lined up the best touring dueling show pianists in the business. �The talent will change every few weeks so Elaine�s Dueling Piano Bar will always introduce fresh, new and exciting shows.� Opening act will include Gary Mumford, Cody Anderson and Walter Melon. Gary Raffanelli of Slam Grand Piano Company, Reno, Nevada, (775) 356-7399 custom built the two identical pianos that will be featured at the dueling piano bar. �Even the finish on these pianos is unique and customized,� said Raffanelli. �When Maddy Winer called and asked me to design two custom pianos for The Grove Park Inn I did not immediately affirm that I would. The next morning I woke up at 3:00am and turned on the television only to see the Bill Gaither special which was, to my surprise, recorded in the lobby of The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. I immediately felt a connection to the Resort and called Maddy back the next day to say I would accept the commission. Raffanelli has designed pianos for Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, John Tesh, Aerosmith, Mannheim Steamroller, Phil Vassar, Journey, four pianos for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and is currently working on his latest creation for Michael Bolton. The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa offers four options for beverages and entertainment. Magnolia�s specializes in specialty martinis as well as gourmet appetizers and desserts created in our own Horizons AAA four diamond restaurant; The Great Hall Bar which features the four piece band �Maddy & Masterpiece,� voted Asheville�s number one dance band; The Blue Ridge Dining Room Wine Bar with singer/guitarist Chris Rhodes and our newest addition, Elaine�s Dueling Piano Bar. Elaine�s Dueling Piano Bar, located in the Vanderbilt Wing of the historic Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, will be open at 8:00pm Wednesday through Saturday with the four hour continuous show starting at 9:00pm.
