Buncombe County Pools Open for the Summer May 24

The weather is warming up, and kids are getting restless as the school year winds down. It is a familiar pattern, and Buncombe County Parks & Recreation Services is ready for another summer of swimming lessons and fun in the sun at their outdoor pools. County community pools are scheduled to open weekends beginning May 24. Admission is $3.00 per visit.

Buncombe County Parks and Recreation Services offers six outdoor pools located in all areas of Buncombe County.

The pools are open in June, July and the early part of August. The water is heated at every pool!

To eliminate that painful blast of freezing water during early morning swim lessons � or for the first cannonball of the day, regardless of the hour � all Buncombe County pools feature heated water.

The pools include:

Cane Creek Pool (South)
Erwin Community Pool (Central West)
Hominy Valley Park Pool (West)
North Buncombe Park Pool (North)
Owen Pool (East)
Recreation Park Pool (Central East)

All pools are available on a rental basis for parties. The cost is $60 per hour. This includes one lifeguard for 25 kids or less. There is a $10 charge for additional lifeguards.
