This is part of executive chef and owner Peter Pollay�s continuing green efforts � both for Posana Caf� and the Asheville restaurant community. Peter is a member of the Green Team, Asheville Independent Restaurant�s (AIR) committee dedicated to making Asheville the �green restaurant capital� of the United States. Peter and the Green Team succeeded in securing a $258,000 grant from the North Carolina Green Business Fund to be used to �greenly� renovate and update up to 18 of AIR�s member restaurants, making Asheville more energy efficient and reducing energy consumption in the city.

Posana Caf� has received national recognition for it�s green renovation efforts, which began as soon as Peter and Martha Pollay received the lease for their space at 1 Biltmore Avenue. They retrofitted much of the existing systems in the space with eco-friendly solutions, and continue to find and implement ways to further make their restaurant the greenest restaurant in North Carolina.
