The Board of Directors invites you to a special benefit evening in support of the Diana Wortham Theatre featuring Tony-nominated vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway. Join fellow arts supporters in Diana Wortham Theatre's lower lobby for an elegant VIP reception with refreshments, decadent desserts, and the sounds of the Sara Fields Trio on April 28 at 7:30 pm; and stay for a post-performance meet and greet with Ms. Callaway after her 8:30 pm performance.Ms. Callaway's performance salutes the Great Ladies of Song - legendary women who helped shape the soundtrack of our lives: Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, and more. VIP ticket (Pre- and post-performance reception plus orchestra-level seating) is $75. Regular ticket (performance only, balcony seating) is $50. The benefit evening is sponsored by the Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa and Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. and is presented by the Diana Wortham Theatre's board of directors to provide vital financial support for the ongoing programs of the theatre. A portion of the ticket price is a tax-deductible contribution to the theatre. Known for her smart scatting and passionate delivery of standards, jazz classics and originals, Ann Hampton Callaway is one of the leading champions of the great American Songbook, having made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host, and producer. She is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical Swing!, and for writing and singing the theme song for Fran Drescher's hit TV series, "The Nanny." Callaway is a Platinum Award winning writer whose songs are featured on six of Barbra Streisand's recent CD. No stranger to film and television projects, Ms. Callaway made her feature film debut opposite Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon in the Robert De Niro film, The Good Shepherd (2006), performing the standard "Come Rain or Come Shine."
