Turner & Co. Apothecary Stylish Addition to Biltmore

A bright sun streaming through shiny windows and the clean, modern lines of a well-stocked store are only early indications of the warm greeting shoppers can expect when they enter one of Ashevilles newest and smartest additions to the Biltmore Village area, Turner & Co. Apothecary.

Turner & Co. Apothecary, located at 18 Brook Street in the new Biltmore Courtyard Shops, offers an abundant array of some of the finest skin care and beauty products on the market. Some products, such as the high quality Kiehls line, are offered in Asheville solely at Turner & Co. Apothecary.

Kiehls offers a large line of face, body, hair, and fragrance products for men, women, and babies. Using only the finest ingredients, Kiehls products are a unique blend of cosmetic, pharmaceutical, herbal, and medicinal knowledge that has been passed down through the generations since its beginnings in New Yorks East Village over 150 years ago. With the focus on quality ingredients, Kiehls uses only ingredients that are truly beneficial to the skin; they do not add ingredients solely for the purpose of altering the scent or appearance of their products.

The chic boutique is the vision of a young, gracious, and fashionable transplanted New Yorker, Katina Turner, pictured on the right. For Turner, whose father enjoyed a long career as manager of the Mens Store at Saks 5th Avenue and whose mother spent her working years at Estee Lauder, it seems only natural that a life revolving around fashion, beauty, and style came to be an early passion.

Her own successful career, which began at MTV where she produced House of Style with supermodel Cindy Crawford as host, was an effortless progression for the bright and beautiful Turner. The fashion/beauty/lifestyle program was a perfect fit. But love and marriage have a way of eventually turning a girls head, and after a career with MTV that spanned most of her twenties and early thirties, the native New Yorker found herself starting a new life in Asheville with her new husband and Ashevillian Brian Turner.

The future looks bright indeed at Turner & Co. Apothecary. In the not-too-distant future, the shop will offer private make-up consultations or parties with talented freelance make-up artist, Diane Chambers. Chambers, whose finesse made her a popular make-up artist in the glitzy world of New York fashion shows, will be available to guide style-conscious customers toward looking their best with a host of make-up tricks, expert application, and proper use of products.

Turner & Co. Apothecary is located in Suite 102 at the new Biltmore Courtyard Shops, 18 Brook Street, just south of La Paz Restaurant on Sweeten Creek Road. Turner & Co. Apothecary is open Monday Saturday from 10 AM 6 PM; closed Sunday.
