Lifeguard Training at the YWCA of Asheville Begins March 4


The YWCA of Asheville will offer American Red Cross Lifeguard Training starting Wednesday, March 4 at 6:30 pm. The class will meet at the YWCA, 185 S. French Broad Avenue through May 6. The course includes lifeguarding skills, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and more. Participants must be at least 15 years old and pass a pre-test. The cost is $175, and includes all materials. For more information, call Jean Coile at 254-7206 x 110.

The YWCA has a comprehensive Aquatics program. Red Cross Certified swimming instruction is offered for all ages and levels. The YWCA pool is 75 x 25 feet. The average temperature is 86-88 degrees Fahrenheit. Our Spectrum pool lift makes the pool accessible to people of all physical abilities. If you already know how to swim and want to workout in the pool, you can enjoy lap swim, open swim, and water aerobics as part of Club W for one monthly fee.
