Firestorm Cafe and Books Name "One of America's Coolest Independent Coffee Shops Across the US" by Zaggat

Firestorm Cafe and Books is pleased to announce that it has been named one of Americas coolest independent coffee shops by the Zagat Survey. According to Zagat:

Coffee shops have often been associated with poets, activists, college students and any artistic type looking for a caffeinated connection. And, given that the patron saint of Firestorm is writer and feminist Voltairine de Cleyre, this stereotype fits perfectly with this caf in Asheville, NC, and not in a bad way. The cafe opened in 2005 with the goal to be worker-owned, and for the past six years, they have achieved that goal while also using Counter Culture Coffee to make a mean cup of joe.

Firestorm Cafe & Books provides an all organic coffee and milk selection combined with vegan sandwiches and soups all in an environment meant to feed the curious with alternative literature, community events and many of Ashevilles most interesting and amazing patrons. Firestorm Cafe & Books is a worker owned and operated business that aims to promote an economy based on cooperative libertarian principals. Julie Schneyer, a future owner at Firestorm, is excited by the recognition and thrilled that people are responding to a coffee shop that puts an emphasis on people and creating community resources over the pursuit of profit.

Firestorm Cafe & Books was also previously named the Best Slow Money Business 2010 in America by Slow Money USA.

Firestorm Cafe is located at 48 Commerce Street in downtown Asheville with an entrance on Patton Avenue next to the Weinhause and the Thirsty Monk. We can be found online at www.firestormcafe.com and at 828.255.8115
