Jonas Gerard Reveals New Works at The Asheville Loft

An exhibit of new paintings by Jonas Gerard will open at The Asheville Loft on June 28th and will run through July 27th, with an opening reception on July 3rd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Balance between the masculine and feminine energies has always been at the heart of Gerard’s creative expressions, most recently in his abstract “flow” works. With The Naked Truth, the artist further explores that harmony, organically discovering the human form within his flow abstractions.

“Long ago, I thought my love affair capturing the nude human figure was over, but that yearning has re-ignited. For several years this idea of wanting to celebrate both the beauty and strength of The Goddess keeps coming back to me, but not in isolation. It’s almost as though I’m simply unveiling her,” says Gerard.

The Asheville Loft, reminiscent of the New York studio lofts of the 1960s and 70s, is a particularly fitting space for the premiere of the artist’s body of new work. Gerard immediately felt a connection to the third-floor gallery in historic downtown Asheville.
