Help Hickory Nut Gap Farm Reach Their Fundraising Goal

Since the inception of its agritourism adventures, Hickory Nut Gap Farm has become a local destination for people who want to purchase local, grassfed, humanely-raised meats and to better connect with where their food comes.

Hickory Nut Gap is also a favorite among Asheville’s best restaurants including The Admiral, Chestnut, Corner Kitchen, Lex 18, Red Stag Grill, Table, Tupelo Honey, Wicked Weed, and dozens more.

They wish to continue their journey with the construction of an on-farm kitchen and butchery. They will turn their grassfed and pastured raised meats into deli roast beef, hamburgers, bratwurst, & smoked pulled pork sandwiches served with with local veggie sides for visitors at the farm.

They also plan to bake homemade apple and pumpkin pies, fresh bread and muffins. They will hold whole animal butcheries on site and have the opportunity for visitors to custom cut steaks, create fresh sausages, chicken and beef stocks and even offer classes to teach you how to accomplish these things too.

Construction should be complete by September. Hickory Nut Gap Farm is asking for you to support the purchase of a smoker ($20,000), deli case ($2500), convection oven ($4000), and vacuum sealer ($4300). Ultimately, they are asking that in more ways than one you join our farm community and help invest in what will be a Asheville farm destination and a place to meet with neighbors for good food and drink.

Hickory Nut Gap Farm’s BarnRaiser fundraising goal ends on Tuesday and is close to the $25,000 goal. There are a number of reward tiers to choose from for supporting patrons, from CSA shares, farm tours to dinner parties.
