Whole Foods’ Five Percent Day Benefits RiverLink Today

Whole Foods in Asheville will donate five percent of today’s sales to RiverLink as part of its community giving days program.

With many tubers and other river lovers among Whole Foods staff, RiverLink was selected as the featured non-profit and will receive five percent of profits on Tuesday, June 30th from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The money donated will help continue the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad River and its tributaries as a place to work, live and play. They focus on issues that directly impact the environmental health of our region’s rivers and streams and the growth and sustainability of our economy.

“We are eager to help members of our community connect with RiverLink,” Tony Sgro, Whole Foods Market® Asheville Store Team Leader said. “Like the nonprofit, it is important to us to practice, advance and create avenues for environmental stewardship.”

RiverLink staff and volunteers will be on site at the Whole Foods on South Tunnel Road to answer questions and provide about water quality, recreation and conservation. They will also be glad to bag your groceries and help you to your car.
